Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reporting platforms meet service level requirements.

  • Responsible for installing, upgrading, maintaining and administering reporting DEV, QA, PROD and training environments for BI platforms, including Microstrategy and Looker.

  • Release management for reporting environments.

  • Work closely with cloud management and data engineering teams to provide support for the Business Intelligence platforms—including Microstrategy and Looker-- and its users.

  • Manage maintenance processes and procedures.

  • Monitor business use and performance of the BI and provide feedback to BI architects, developers, and database administrators.

  • Responsible for automating administrative tasks using Python and RESTful APIs.

  • Uses automation and repeatable processes to administer multiple instances of platforms.

  • Identifies, researches, and resolves server, performance, security, and other admin-related problems.

  • Evaluates technical alternatives from the developer community based on best practices.

  • Implement and maintain user-defined security rules.

  • Provide on-call production support.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Design, or an engineering discipline

  • 3 years’ work experience showing growth as a BI Engineer, BI administrator, Software Administrator, or Server Administrator

  • 3 years’ work experience as server administrator and platform support in Microstrategy or Cognos or another Enterprise BI technology.

  • At least 1 year experience with Maestro

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud management technologies such as Azure, AWS, etc. strongly preferred.

  • Solid programming skills and experience in Python strongly preferred

  • Experience as with administration and platform support for Looker, Tableau, Cognos, etc. a plus

  • Reports/Dashboard development experience in Microstrategy, Looker, Tableau, etc. a plus

  • Proficiency in building SQL scripts, indexes, and complex queries for data analysis and extraction a plus

  • Experience with vendor management a plus

  • Experience with licensing a plus
