The Business Consultant position within the Sales Illustrations team is crucial to ensuring our calculations are correct and regulatory requirements are satisfied. The Business Consultant will test, document, analyze results, document any deviations and provide cause when possible. The Business Consultant works closely with Actuaries, Developers and other areas within Business and IT to devise or solve complex problems considering business and/or system limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. . The analyst will be responsible for working with systems analysts and business analysts in identifying and providing assistance with problem resolution. In addition, the analyst must use various software packages that assist in the verification process (e.g. Beyond Compare, Excel, WinZip).


  • Assure actuarial and mathematical correctness and regulatory requirements are met for verbiage and front end of the Company’s sales illustration systems

  • Learn the basic concepts and calculations used in the various illustration systems This includes new and old products as well as annual updates for both traditional and non-traditional life products

  • Demonstrate proficiency in at least one programming language preferably Fortran.

  • Identify and report errors through the appropriate error reporting system.

  • Identify and provide assistance with problem resolution working with systems analysts and business analysts


  • College degree or five plus years of insurance experience, with at least 2 years in a related field

  • Strong mathematical/analytical background (math degree a plus)

  • Strong programming experience in Fortran.

  • Strong experience with TSO.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Product and sales illustration experience.

  • Ability to adapt and perform under tight deadlines.

  • Great interpersonal skills.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
