The Digital Experience Team is looking to expand on our success by continuing to build our team of passionate, curious, and creative developers, product developers, data gurus, and UX experts. MassMutual’s Digital Experience organization is looking for a highly motivated and experienced MicroStrategy Developer/Architect to join a growing organization. In this role, you will be responsible for all facets of data visualizations, dashboards and analytics between MicroStrategy and our web portals.
MassMutual is looking for an experienced MicroStrategy Developer with extensive experience in developing application objects and interactive dashboards. As a MicroStrategy Developer you would work with teams comprised of web developers, QA testers, product managers, business analysts, deliver leads, and business stakeholders to build, maintain, support, and accelerate the development of enterprise analytics systems.
We are looking for a candidate to support the implementation of BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses and are responsible for the analysis, design, development, and deployment of reporting solutions (reports, dashboards, scorecards etc.) and applying data visualizations.
Additional daily/monthly responsibilities could include:
Incumbents leverage BI tools such as Tableau, SQL, SSRS, MicroStrategy, Alteryx to perform data integration, data visualization, analytics, and report development.
Gather, interpret and analyze business requirements and use cases, develop concepts/mock-ups via iterative practices, and design reporting solutions (dashboards, scorecards, etc) that meet use cases/requirements, as well as achieve ease of usability and self-service capabilities.
Perform data integration, write efficient SQL Queries, and develop/deploy reporting solutions that apply data visualization standards and best practices, and meets quality standards by performing unit testing.
Create documentation and technical specifications for reporting solutions, develop procedures/standard work, support readiness/training activities to end users.
Perform routine maintenance support, and troubleshoot reported issues as well as determine root causes, and implement counter measures.
Peer review junior developers, monitor and administer reporting environments to maintain proper performance and proactively address any environment issues.
Conduct training programs and knowledge transfer sessions to junior developers.
Act as mentor/coach to staff, providing feedback, and additional training on an ongoing basis.
Incumbents have expert understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), experience writing complex SQL queries, expert knowledge with relational database concepts, SQL queries, Views, and Stored Procedures and experience translating business needs into data visualization the enable decision-making and analysis
2+ years of experience with MicroStrategy application objects
Experience in Microstrategy Schema design and development
Experience with 1 or more MicroStrategy tools (Object Manager, Integrity Manager, Command Manager,etc)
Customer facing role, excellent communication skills required
Authorized to work in the United States with or without sponsorship
5+ years’ of BI experience
Experience with MicroStrategy Developer in v9-10
Experience with leveraging I-Cubes
Agile project delivery experience
Financial services background
Experience with managing cross-functional relationships
Ability to build high performance dashboards and tune them to optimum speeds
Hands-on experience with MicroStrategy components: Desktop/Developer, Schema Objects, OLAP Services, BI Developer Kit, Intelligence Server, Object Manager, Narrowcast Server, Report Services, Proficiency with latest MicroStrategy release, Dynamic Dashboard & Report Development, Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies, and Aggregation, etc.
Experience in Visual insights report and dashboard developments (on both web and mobile)
Good understanding of relational databases, structures, dimensional data modeling, SQL, Data Warehouse and reporting techniques
Good understanding of ETL processes, data modeling and related Data Warehouse concepts for reporting
Experience working in an agile environment.
Experience with React, Node technology is a plus
Self-driven, able to work independently on complex problems and propose solutions with good communication skills. MicroStrategy certification
Experience Working with VERTICA
