Job Summary

Eligible for sales incentive (VICP). May include DC/DB or Worksite sales. Incumbents are seasoned sales representative

with the highest level of sales skill and highest level track record and industry prominence. Incumbents have comprehensive

knowledge of the business and work with the most complex/ important prospects.

Identify and cultivate prospective clients, prepare and deliver new business presentations, and close the sale of products and services. May assist in maintaining client relationships, perhaps with relationship management and/or plan administration staff. Primary responsibilities - develop/maintain relationships with consultants or intermediaries.

  • Works independently and with management on high visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects

  • Sought as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems

  • Advances the interest of the company by serving on teams that are external to the organization when appropriate

  • Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility

  • Individual typically has at least 8+ yrs of related experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Distribution channels include Lead sales results in the mid-market ($10M and above) through all distribution channels proprietary MassMutual agents, TPAs, wirehouse and independent advisors.

  • Cultivate and build strong relationships with advisors to generate prospect opportunities

  • Aggressively develop new distribution channels and intermediaries within these channels, while striving to maintain balanced marketing activity with all distribution channels.

  • Develop intermediary interest in all of our core products

  • Maintain industry knowledge necessary to be a product expert on retirement products

  • Execute on marketing plans both locally developed as well as those initiated from the corporate office.

  • Continue skill and knowledge development through a combination of MMRS-provided training and self-initiative.

  • Maximize marketing and sales efforts by focusing on intermediaries and prospects located in greater metropolitan area of office, while selectively pursuing intermediaries and prospects located in other parts of assigned territory.

  • Manage self in accordance with regulatory requirements and compliance ground rules, including promptly obtaining necessary licenses.

  • Effectively manage Travel, Business-Related Entertainment.

  • Cooperate with, and support, the efforts of HQ and Divisional Vice Presidents (DVP’s) in marketing thrusts and other matters surfaced by HQ and DVP.

  • Meet accuracy, completeness and timeliness standards in reporting sales results, prospect activity, expenses, and meeting other management requests.

  • Maintain effective communications with HQ staff and DSM, support established policies, and reconcile differences in a professional manner.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 year college degree

  • Must live in the territory -Kansas City or St. Louis vicinity preferred

  • Ability to travel 60%

  • 5+ years related sales experience

  • FINRA 7 & 63 licenses required or will need to obtain within 120 days of hire at MassMutual cost.

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
